Blighted ovum ‘left me shattered’ – BBC Africa

Warning: this video has descriptions of miscarriage that some viewers may find upsetting.

Loise Nyagol has suffered from a condition known as an anembryonic pregnancy, or blighted ovum.

This is when, during pregnancy, the embryo fails to grow leading to a miscarriage at 8-13 weeks.

Despite the devastation she has experienced, Loise is hopeful that one day she will be able to have a baby.

She shared her experience with BBC Life Clinic.

    4. I lost my baby again today for the 2nd time this year, all blighted ovum. I'm hoping it dispels completely on it's own, can't go through D&C again. I feel distraught, I feel blank, I feel psychologically weak.

    5. This happened to my sister. Had to be evacuated. but thankfully the next pregnancy was successful and she had a beautiful baby girl. I pray you'll get your blessing too soon

    6. BBC, once again obsessed with African women and fertility.

    7. God is the final say

    8. Dont worry sister Lord Jesus will Bless you with a healthy baby. I had 2 still born but never left my hope and God answered my prayers and now i have 2 beautiful girls. So dont loose hope.

    9. People should stop asking about peoples wombs. Like it's really not necessary to keep asking people about children because you never know their reasons for not having children. Like it could be that they have lost pregnancies, are unable to get pregnant, have very low chances of getting pregnant, or don't want to get pregnant for reasons like previous traumatic experiences, finances, health reasons-if they are fearful about passing down genetic illnesses or their own health, and other personal reasons, including just not wanting children. Let people be please. Some may really want children and these constant questions aren't so easy on the mind.

    10. And this here is one of the many reasons we should not be criticizing people who do not have kids (yet). You never know what people are going through.

    11. To the best of my knowledge it's not wise to do this thing so called baby shower coz of those don't have kids so i don't advacate for it

    12. I went through the same. Reason I also don't like baby showers. This silent suffering is not good. But God exists through the good and bad

    13. Anyone reading this, this is not your portion. πŸ™ You will carry a healthy full term pregnancy and deliver safely a healthy baby in Jesus name. God be with her and give her hearts desire πŸ™ ❀️
