Erick Kabendera on Samia Suluhu Hassan, life in prison and freedom – BBC Africa

When Tanzanian journalist Erick Kabendera spent seven months in jail in 2019 for money laundering, tax evasion and leading organised crime, it was seen as an example of rising oppression of the press and critics of the former President John Magufuli.
Having been freed after accepting a plea bargain, Erick tells BBC Africa’s Zuhura Yunus about life in prison, losing his mother and what is needed to tackle previous injustices.

    1. BBC, nyie ni wakoloni wa kudumisha ukoloni mamboleo na utumwa kwa waafrika. Waafrika tunasema "Nomore."

    2. Mwaelezea wazungu au mwashitakia wazungu.sisi ni wafrica tukuzeni kiswahili.kizungu chatupa kizungu zungu.twajuwa mulisoma vizuri but akili zetu bado ziko kwenye ukoloni.nyote wawili wafrica ujumbe wakimombo ni wa nini.SIFA ZA KIZUNGU HIZO.MUTAKALIWA HADI KIAMA

    3. I do like the contents of BBC but I wonder why always when comes in Africa contents you publish the the worse news for 98 percent since the initiation of this broadcasting ,why….. Let make world live in peace and oness

    4. He’s a criminal, if it wasn’t for foreign influence this idiot should have stayed in prison. You can’t use political stance as a shield for your crimes. When I become a president, he is going back to prison.

    5. USIDANGANYE MBONA ULIRUDISHA HELA ZOTE MARA MOJA,ULITOA WAPI?

    6. What i see from the interview is deceiving Late HE. John Magufuli legacy.
There was a sabotaging secret agenda with these activist(s). They can't truly say what they were doing, rather you can hear them condemning and blaming about Dr. Magufuli's regime. And these are very few people in Tanzania, the majority rest when you go down the streets and villages they are still grief and tiredlessly mourning late Dr. Magufuli. They loved and trust him so deeply That is why no one can say sth bad about him and not be condemned by the public from streets to the mainstream.
Down the history of our nation he was the only president except the father of the nation Mwl. Nyerere who came in power having a clear understanding what citizens need, he transformed Tanzania so great in just 5 years. He is now every corner of the country missed -every one praying to get a new Magufuli to restore the country peace and security; to speed and foster development; to encourage people to believe in their abilities and God's mighty power; to visit every corner of the country listening his people; launching new development projects to an average of one project after every two weeks and etc.

    7. You reap what you sow. He thought he was stronger than the government.

    10. Nani asiejua kuwa wewe ulikuwa unatumiwa na hao mabeberu

    11. Hello. We need to pray for each other. From the word of God to us: (Iz 9)2 The people that walked in darkness saw a great light, and on those who dwelt in the region of the shadow of death light shone.
6 For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us, and the government is upon his shoulders, and his name shall be called: Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace. God has not left us orphans. He sent us Jesus the Savior. There is hope. Cry for Christ and he will help you. We need to turn to God with a humble heart of obedience. Jesus will soon return. Pray. Read the Bible. You are loved by God. Greetings. From Brasil. 🌷
