These doughnuts can be made into ring doughnuts, they can also be enjoyed plain without filling. I do not like filled doughnuts, hence the sparing amount of jam injected.
If you’re kneading by hand, it will take between 10 and 12 minutes to achieve the smooth, sticky texture.
The texture of the batter after kneading should be slightly sticky but if you’re not confident, you can add a bit more flour, do not be tempted to add too much flour while kneading or you’ll end up with hard textured doughnuts.

300g Plain Flour
30g Melted Butter
1 egg
120g room temperature milk
45g Sugar
7g Fast Action Yeast
